"Naftsu" Mineral water
Galaalti mineral water is natural medicinal table water. People in Azerbaijan drink it after eating (mainly after lunch and dinner) to treat various diseases or for other purposes.
A new source of mineral water was found in 1969 in one of the picturesque lands in the foothill forests 20 kilometers from the center of Shabran region above the Galaalti village. Locals call it NaftSu, meaning oil-containing water. It has a strong smell and taste. Because of the low mineralization (up to 0.78 g/l) and the rich content of organic substances (8.35-23.8 mg/l), water stimulates the discharge of small stones from the kidneys, urinary and biliary tract. It reduces the pathogenicity (tendency to stone formation) of urine and bile and normalizes metabolism. NaftSu has an anti-inflammatory effect. This water regulates the metabolism and has an alkalizing effect on blood and urine. It reduces the formation of uric acid and promotes its removal from the body; reduces the acidity of gastric juice; lowers the permeability of the cell membranes; reduces bleeding tendency; has an anti-inflammatory effect, increases diuresis, and removes excess fluid from the body. Galaalti water is used in the treatment of kidney stone disease in various forms. It is unique both in composition and the physiological effect is shown on the human body.
